YouTube videos have different sharing rights associated with them. This means you can't download and reuse any YouTube video you see. However, YouTube's terms of service let viewers embed any videos where the owner has left the embed option on. This means you can embed most YouTube videos into Mandala.

Mandala Audio-Video doesn't currently include an embedding option. Instead, you can use Mandala Visuals, which has a video tool. Before you make your video visualization, you should get the URL from your video in your browser's address bar. To use this tool:

  1. Log in to https://visuals.shanti.virginia.edu/
    • Remember, this is the Visuals site and not the Audio-Video site
  2. Click the Main Menu icon
    • Find this icon in the top right corner
  3. Click Create
    • A list of visualization types will open
  4. Choose Media, then Create under "Video"
  5. Enter a title for your video
  6. In a different window, open the YouTube video you want to embed
  7. Copy the code after the equal sign in the YouTube video's URL
    • You can find the URL in your browser's address bar
    • Sample URL:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v= zDZFcDGpL4U
    • Sample code zDZFcDGpL4U
  8. Back in Audio-Video, paste the code in the "Source of Video" field
