You can search for subjects anywhere in Mandala by clicking the magnifying glass icon in the top right corner. You can also search through assets tagged with a subject. 

Filters for Subjects

Related Subjects: returns results, including subjects, related to the subject selected here. You can select more than one related subject. 

Detailed Instructions

1. Go to Go to https://mandala.shanti.virginia.edu/subjects

   • The Subjects homepage will open

2. Click the search icon
   • Find this button below the main menu This icon is a magnifying glass in the top right corner of the page

   • The "Search" window will expand

   • The "Results" tab will be selected automatically

3. Begin typing a subject name Type your search into the "Search" fieldTo add filters to your search, click Advanced

   • A drop-down

     menu of options for search filters will expand
   1. Choose from among the filter options
   • You can select as many options as you want from the "Show only results containing" and "Show only feature types" menus
4. Click Enter
   • Find this button to the right of the search field

   • A list of subjects that fit your search criteria will appear at the bottom of the window

5. To view the search results in a hierarchy, click the "Tree" tab
   • Note that you can browse the tree results without entering a search query. Learn more at Browse Subjects
   1. Click + to expand a search result
   2. Click - to collapse a search result
6. To view the search results in a list format, click the "List" tab
   
   1. Click the scroll bar buttons to browse the list results

7. • list of subject names will unfold in the "Results" tab

8. Use the arrow buttons as needed to view page results
9. Click a subject name from the list
   

   • The node page for that subject will open

   Click one of the search results

   • The Knowledge Maps Overview page will appear
