Audio-Video uses the PBCore metadata schema designed by US Public Broadcasting to describe sound and video files. You can learn more at http://pbcore.org/

  1. Log in to audio-video.shanti.virginia.edu
  2. Click the Main Menu icon
    • The menu icon is the four horizontal lines in the top right of the page

On the "Create Audio" page, you can add descriptive information to an audio file and track editing progress.  

  1. Click on the Menu icon
    • A drop-down menu will unfold
  2. Click on Click My Content
    • A drop-down menu will unfold
  3. Click on My Media
    • A list of your uploaded media will open
  4. Locate the Audio file Click the audio-video item to which you want to add information to
    • The item's page will open
  5. Click on the Edit under the "Edit Link" section tab in the top right
    • The "Edit Audio" page will open
  6. Click on the Media section
    • The "Media" section will unfold
    • You can delete the audio file here
  7. Click on the Transcript section
    • The "Transcript" section will
      unfold
      expand
    • You can upload a transcript and/or a transformer herehere; see Add Transcripts for help
  8. Click on the Title & Description section
    • The "Title & Description" section will
      unfold

    • You can change the title, write a description, and add tags
  9. Click on Detailsthe Classification section
    • The "
      Details
      Classification" section will
      unfold

    • This catalogs your file with Knowledge Maps
    • You can catalogue also add your file according to sub-collection, add it to a Knowledge Map, as well as a ssociate it with related media (e.g., if it's a part in a series, associate it with the other parts)a subcollection, or link the file to related media.

  10. Click the Rights and Licensing sectionClick on Rights and Licensing
    • The "Rights and Licensing" section will

    • You can fill in the copyright owner, year published, and redistribution license information
  11. Click on the Availability and Access section
    • The "Availability and Access" section will
      unfold

    • By default, viewing is set to Private;set it to Public if you want all visitors to see your file
    • You can decide set the date and time to have the video available for viewing
  12. Click on the People and Copyrights section
    • The "People and Copyrights" section will

    • You can add creators, contributors, and publishers of the project, as well as the specific roles they played (for example, "Advisor"), as well as a rights summary
  13. Click on the Technical Metadata section
    • The "Technical Metadata" section will

    • This describes You can describe your file's technical aspects, such as : its physical and digital format, frame size, duration, and so onmore
  14. Click on the Workflow section
  15. Click on  Save
    • "My Content" will appear
    • A confirmation message will appear
