Before you can upload audio and video files, you need to create a collection. New collections are private by default. Use the Visibility field in the editor to make them public (step 5).
- Log in to the Audio-Video homepage

- Locate Find the "Create a CollectionAdd to your collections" section on the right
- If you don't see this section, click the I< icon under the search icon to expand it
- Click on Add New Collection
- Find this button on the right-hand side of the page below "Create a Collection"
The "Create Collection" page will load
- Enter a title and description in the first two fields
- A title is required
- Check "Group Visibility" to control who can see your collection
- Set this to Public if you want everyone to see your collection; visibility is Private by default
- Select permissions optionsAdd descriptive data to your new collection:
- "Title" (required): title the collection "Visibility" (required): decide whether the public can view the collection, whether to keep it private, or to allow the U.Va. community to see it
- "Collection Roles and Permissions" (required): set roles for the users sets permissions for people working on the collection
- "Group User Permission Inheritance" (required): set permissions for users working in a subgroupsets whether subcollections have the same permission settings as the collection
- "Group User Inheritance" (required): choose an option for group inheritance
- "Overview" (optional): add a brief description of the collection
- "Text Format" (optional): choose an option depending on whether you want to allow HTML tags to be read
- "Images" (optional): upload a thumbnail image to represent the collection
- sets permissions for a subgroup to inherit the group's users
- Label your collection under "Subcollections"
- This field uses Knowledge Maps"Subcollection" (optional): add Knowledge Map categories to the collection
- If you want to see what your collection will look like, click on click Preview
