Record a Video from Your Webcam

  1. Open the the Audio-Video Video homepage
  2. In the menu sidebar to the right, locate Find the "Add to Your Collections" section
    Click
    • Find this section on the right below the "Create a Collection" section
  3. Choose a collection from the drop-down menu to choose a collection for the file
    • The drop-down menu will close, and will show the name of the collection collection
  4. Click Upload a Video
    • The "Create Video" page will open
  5. Click Media
    • The "Media" section will unfold 
  6. Click Add Media
    • The "Add Media" dialog box will appear 
  7. Click the Webcam tab
    • The "Webcam" screen will open
  8. Click the Select a Webcam drop-down menu
  9. Choose a webcam
    • A dialog box will appear, asking for access to your webcam
  10. Click Allow
    • The dialog box will close and the webcam will turn on
  11. Click Record
    • The video will begin recording
  12. Click Stop when you are finished recording
  13. Click Next
    • A window will load, allowing you to change the title of the media file and add tags
  14. Add at least a title
    • The video will not process without a title
  15. Click Next
    • A status bar will appear, and when the file is uploaded the dialog box will close
    • The video file will be listed in the "Media" section of the "Create Video" page
  16. Click the sections below "Media" to add more settings, such as rights, availability, technical metadata, and so on
    • Remember, make your video public with the Availability & Access fields; videos are private by default
    • See the Add Information to Files guide for help editing these fields
  17. Click Save

Upload a Video from Metacafe 

  1. Open the the Audio-Video Video homepage
  2. In Find the menu sidebar to the right, locate the "Add to Your Collections" section"Add to Your Collections" section
    • Find this section on the right below the "Create a Collection" section
  3. Choose a collection from Click the drop-down menu to choose a collection for the file
    • The drop-down menu will close, and will show the name of the collection collection
  4. Click Upload a Video 
    • The "Create Video" page will open
  5. Click Media
    • The "Media" section will unfold 
  6. Click Add Media
    • The "Add Media" dialog box will appear 
  7. Click the Metacafe tab
    • The "Metacafe" screen will open
  8. Type keywords into the search bar to find a video
  9. Click Search
    • Results will appear below the search bar
  10. Click on your chosen video
    • A plus sign will appear on the video
  11. Click Next
    • A window will load, allowing you to change the title of the media file and add tags
  12. Add at least a title
    • The video will not process without a title
  13. Click Next
    • A status bar will appear, and when the file is uploaded the dialog box will close
    • Find your new video file in the "Media" section of the "Create Video" page
  14. Click the sections below "Media" to add more settings, such as rights, availability, technical metadata, and so on
  15. Click Save
