See the Root Node glossary definition

  1. Log in to SHANTI Texts
  2. Click the menu icon
    • The menu icon is the four horizontal lines in the upper-right corner
    • A drop-down menu will unfold
  3. Click My Collections
    • A page listing your collections will open
  4. Open a collection
  5. Click the Add Text button on the right
    • This new page will be the root node of the text
    • The "Create Text" page will open
  6. Give your text a title in the "Title" box
    • "Title" is located in the top left of the page
  7. Click SHANTI Texts Splitter
    • A drop-down menu will unfold
    • Choose whether you want to split your text into sections
    • If yes, select which header levels you want to signal new sections
  8. Go to the "Content" section in the left sidebar menu
    • "Content" is automatically selected; if it isn't, click the Content button
  9. Type the content for the first page into the "Content" box
  10. Click KMap Terms
    1. Search for and add subjects in the "Subject Names" field
    2. Search for and add places in the "Place Names" field
  11. Click Catalog Data
    1. Add a cover image in the "Featured Image" section
    2. Add a description in the "Description" field
    3. Add the author in the "Author" field
    4. Add the editor in the "Editor" field
    5. Add the translator, language, date, publication year, and the rights in their respective field
  12. Click Collection
    1. Add a collection or subcollection from the "Collection" drop-down menu
    2. Type in which groups will be able to see the text in the "Visibility" field
  13. Click Admin
    1. Type the status in the "Status" field
  14. Click Revision information
    1. Type an explanation of your revisions in the "Revision log message" field
  15. Click Publishing options
    1. Check the "Published" box
  16. Click Preview
    • Find "Preview" at the bottom of the window
  17. Click Save text section if you are finished editing the page
    • Find "Save" at the bottom of the window
    • A message will appear confirming the save
