Transcript Format

If you don’t need timecodes, you can upload a plain text file of your transcript in .txt format.
Break up your text into segments to make it more readable. You can use blank lines, new lines, or specific characters. We recommend adding a blank line between units.

Multilingual Transcripts

If you want to add multiple languages to your transcript:
  1. include each language within each transcript units
  2. keep language order consistent within transcript units
  3. separate languages with specific characters, like /

Here's an incorrectly formatted text transcript with multiple languages.

 Welcome to Audio-Video! Bienvenido a Audio-Video!

Puedes crear transcripciones con Audio-Video. / You can create transcripts with Audio-Video.

This transcript won’t play back with the video, but it’s still useful for people who want to read the contents. / Esta transcripción no se reproducirá con el video, pero aún es útil para las personas que desean leer el contenido.

(error)  Inconsistent order of languages in the second transcript unit

(error)  No separator between languages in the first transcript unit

Here's the same transcript, corrected:

Welcome to Audio-Video! / Bienvenido a Audio-Video!

You can create transcripts with Audio-Video. / Puedes crear transcripciones con Audio-Video.

This transcript won’t play back with the video, but it’s still useful for people who want to read the contents. / Esta transcripción no se reproducirá con el video, pero aún es útil para las personas que desean leer el contenido.

(tick) The separator / appears consistently between languages in a unit

(tick) Languages always appear with English first, then Spanish
