Data Format

You don't need to upload any data for this map. Use the options to the left to create the visualization.

Customization Options


Center and zoom of map

sets the location on which your map is centered and how zoomed in the viewpoint is

  • Set the location with a latitude, longitude, and zoom factor, e.g. "38.03,-78.48,11"
Draggable?

allows users to change the map center by dragging and dropping on the surface of your map

Height of map

sets the visualization height in pixels

Width of map

sets the visualization width in pixels

Initial map type
  • Set the type of map that first appears when the visualization loads
  • Choose from Hybrid, Roadmap, Satellite, Terrain, and Land
Enable scrollwheel?

allows users to zoom in and out of your map by using their scrollwheel

Overview inset control?

opens a small mini-map feature that facilitates easy navigation to nearby regions and places

  • Show a control in the bottom-right corner of the map
Position control?

creates a navigation control in the top-left of the map

  • Useful when the 'Draggable?' option is set to false, but you still want users to be able to navigate your map
Show StreetView icon? 

allows users to jump into a street level perspective of a certain location (where supported by Google) shows the Google Maps StreetView icon in the top-left of the map

  • show the Google Maps StreetView icon in the top-left of the map
Map type control?

allows users to change the map type by using a control in the top-right of the map

Zoom control? 

creates a slider bar on the left side of the map that allows users to change the zoom on the map

  • Useful when 'Enable scrollwheel?' is disabled
Show controlbox?

allows users to show/hide map layers or to navigate the map using GoTos

  • Show a controlbox populated with the titles of layers that have been added to the map
Enable user draw?

allows users to draw and annotate on the map
