To navigate to the Content Editor:
- Open the text you would like to edit
See the Search for Existing Texts guide to find a text
- Go to the page you would like to edit
See Read a Text to navigate to a page within a text
- Click on the Edit icon
- The Edit icon is under the page title, and hovering over this icon will display an "Edit this page" message
The "Edit book page" window will appear
The "Content" tab will be open
In the Content Editor:
- Hover over each icon to see its name; icons are listed here from left to right
- Bold
- Italic
- Underline
- Strike Through
- Align left
- Center
- Align right
- Justify
- Insert/Remove Bulleted List
- Insert/Remove Numbered List
- Increase Indent
- Decrease Indent
- Link
- Superscript
- Subscript
- Block Quote: add a quote set off from the main paragraph
- Insert Horizontal Line
- Cut
- Copy
- Paste
- Paste as Plain Text: paste text while removing text format
- Paste from Word: paste text from Microsoft Word
- Show Blocks: delineates paragraph in the editing window
- Insert Special Character: insert accented letters, symbols, etc.
- Insert Table: see the guide to Insert a Table
- Create Div Container: insert a div container for more advanced styling
- Create iframe: see the guide to Add an iFrame
- Maximize: expand the "Content" box to fill the window
- Add a footnote: see the guide to Insert a Footnote
