Turn-Off/On Procedure

Procedure for turning off and on the slow control rack, in case of planned/unplanned power outage.

Turning Off

  1. Make sure all programs about the slow controls (running on the target computer) are stopped.
  2. Record which devices are on (and off).
  3. Turn off all devices that have a mechanical power switch.
    1. This step might not be necessary since the power cords are unplugged in the next step and thus any surge current during a power outage recovery should not come in.  We need discuss to decide.
  4. Unplug the two power cords of the slow control rack.

Turning On

  1. Plug the two power cords of the slow control rack.
  2. Turn on all devices that have a mechanical power switch.
  3. Activate TPG 361 by pressing the "up" button for 5 seconds, until the pressure reading of channel 1 is shown.
  4. Wait until the pressure of TPG 361 goes below 1e-3 Torr. — Is the value correct??
  5. Activate DCU 600, by pressing the rightmost button. — Is the button correct??
